Price: $89.99
| My 5'9" in a 2-piece with my size 10 reel. This combo is for the fisherman who likes a rod with a fast tip. I like this one on windy days, when you need a super sensitive tip; you'll enjoy feeling bites that you've never felt before. I use this combo for light jigging or rigging, or to throw small crankbaits. This rod pairs well with my small reel. The tip of the rod is great for pitching shore line, use 4-6 lb test line, and the light reel makes it so easy to use. Also great for 1/16th oz Fireball jig, with a shiner minnow or half a night crawler. |

Line: 4-8lb. Lure: 1/16-1/4 oz.
Price: $89.99
| My 6'0" ultra-light in a 2-piece with my size 10 reel. This combo is designed specifically for panfish, such as Perch, Crappies, Bluegills, and stream Trout. I like to use this one with light 1/32, 1/16, and 1/8 oz. jigs. It's great for pitching them over the weeds and the edge of the weed line. This setup can also be used with small slip bobbers. This light action rod is designed to help you feel more bites. This combo is also good to use with small jigs, poppers, steamer flies, and 1/64th oz gypsy jigs, or can just be used with split shot and a piece of a worm or a leech. This ultra-light is a great rod for casting a floating bobber. This type of bobber can be filled with water and will then cast further. For the shore fisherman, this is a must. |

Line: 4-8lb. Lure:
1/16-1/4 oz.
Price: $89.99
| My versatile 6'2” medium in a 2-piece with my size 10 reel. It can be used for Walleye, Bass, and more. Use with heavier 1/8-5/8 oz. jigs and a little heavier line. I prefer 6 lb. test line, for rigging and jigging. This combo can also be used for slip bobber fishing, pitching shallow and deep running crankbaits and light plastic worms. Same great qualities as the 5’9” combo, but a little longer rod and a little lighter tip. Also can use 1/16 oz jig with 4 or 6 lb line. I like to use a stand up jig head, with a minnow , leech, or half a crawler. When the fish are lethargic, sometimes its best to hop the jig a couple of times, drag it, let it sit and repeat. Lots of times you’ll get a bite when its just sitting there. |

Line: 4-8lb. Lure: 1/16-1/4 oz.
Price: $89.99
| This combo is for
light jigging, rigging, and small crankbaits. It’s my 7'0” ultra-light in a 2-piece with my size 10 reel, and will be great for wider boats, and spring crappies too! It works great with my Northland® Roach Rigs® and light rainbow spinners. A great combo for springtime. When you are using a casting bobber, you will be able to cast further away from the boat. Also great for Roach Riggin, with a 1/8th to 1/4th oz sinker. With this light action you will not lose many fish. I use this combo for casting shallow running crankbaits, when the fish are on the shoreline. The light weight of this rod and reel gives you the ability to cast further with lighter crankbaits. You won’t lose many fish with this combo, the rod has a very forgiving tip, and that’s why everybody wants this one. Its also a great crappie and sunfish combo. |
MWS591mls 6'6 Medium 20

Line: 4-8lb. Lure: 1/16-1/4 oz.
Price: $89.99
| This combo is my 6'6” medium with my size 20 reel. I use it for trolling and casting crankbaits, slip bobber fishing, jigging, rigging, and light 1/2-3/4 oz. bottom bouncers. I also use it for small spinners on my bottom bouncers. I like to use this combo in a little deeper water, such as 15' – 30'. This rod is especially good on windy days, when you want the rod closer to the boat, has more of a forgiving tip, and the reel has the capacity to hold the right amount of line, without being clumsy to handle. I will sometimes use a small spinner harness on the bottom bouncer. I use 2 small leeches, one on each hook. Hook leeches by the nose so they swim naturally. With the spinner spinning and 2 leeches hooked through the nose, this is a very deadly combination. Take crawlers and leeches when the water temperature is in the 50’s, sometimes crawlers work better in warmer water. |

Line: 4-8lb. Lure: 1/16-1/4 oz.
Price: $89.99
| This combo is great for deeper rig fishing, casting crankbaits, plastic worm fishing, and trolling with light Northland® Rock-Runner® bottom bouncers from 1/2-1 oz. It works great with my Northland® Roach Rigs® and rainbow spinners. It's my #1 setup for deep riggin' and slip bobber fishing. I use this combo for casting plastic worms & crankbaits for bass and walleye. It is great for slip bobber fishing and roach rigging. When rigging sometimes you need to use a longer snell. If the fish have been pressured, sometimes I use a 6’ or 9’ snell, with a crawler injected with air,so it floats a little higher off the bottom. Sometimes bigger fish suspend and smaller fish stay tight to bottom, where they feel safer. The Northland® Roach Rig® is very adjustable for extending your snell, when needed. So if you see them on the sonar go with a longer snell. |

Mr Walleye Combo
A combo is a convenient way to purchase your next rod and reel. Ideally a compatible reel is paired with the rod, taking the guesswork out of the purchase. The trouble with traditional combos is that you seldom get the same quality rod or reel. Gary found it unacceptable to get a sub-standard rod or reel with his combo.
The Reel:
We developed the Mr Walleye® Combo reel to do everything a reel needs to do well, under the discerning eye of Gary Roach.
Drag is probably the most important feature of a fishing reel. If the drag is uneven, you will lose fish. If the drag cannot be finely adjusted, you will lose fish. To solve these problems we are using a 6-disc metal and oiled felt drag system. The result is an ultra-smooth drag you can make tiny adjustments to that hold. Regardless of the line you use, our drag system is among the smoothest and easiest adjusting you will find on any spinning reel.
The inner workings of our reels is important to smooth functionality, and a long life. We incorporated 11 Ball Bearings into the reel. Standard steel bearings in the key locations were not good enough for Gary, so we opted to use the higher quality stainless steel variety in four key locations in the body. This type of bearing you would expect to find on reels costing $100 or more. Additional bearings in the spool help it revolve smoothly, and double bearings on opposite ends of the handle shafts facilitate a precise cranking action.
The one way clutch is a precice bearing that allows zero backlash when engaged. This lets the drag and the line function correctly, and eliminates any tangling that can be caused by substandard clutch systems.
The handle shaft and socket are reversable, for right or left retrieve. In addition, the handle fits snugly into the socket from either side, and our tolerances for fitting result in less than 1-degree of idle movement.
The spools are milled from lightweight aluminum, and we channel and perforate the spools to reduce the weight resulting in an overall lighter weight reel.
The anti-reverse lever is located on the bottom of the reel, where it's easy to get at. No more fumbling around the rear of a reel to try and engage or release the anti-reverse while you have a fish on. We also mold this piece from solid high grade nylon, which is far more impact-resistant and durable than graphite or ordinary plastic.
The rotor is rotation-balanced, with an anti-vibration package to keep it revolving smoothly and stable. The less the rotor vibrates while cranking, the more control you have over the presentation of your bait. Simply put, you'll catch more fish.
Our pinion gear is milled from solid brass, and unlike many manufacturers that deposit them in a bin after milling, we hand place each one in a tray that holds them apart from another. This prevents the finely machined gear threads from becoming nicked or damaged by jostling around against one another in a common bin. It's something you don't see in the finished product, but it is just one example of the quality manufacturing processes we use that are critical to the operation of the reel.
The Rod:
A genuine Mr Walleye® Series 2 piece rod. No lesser quality or cheater combo rod is used here. You get the exact same rod we offer separately, in 2-piece configuration.
Our 2 piece rods are of a unique design. There is nothing that detracts
from a 2 piece rod more than the ferrule joint. Usually situated between
the stripper and 2nd guides, it creates a 3” long dead spot on the rod,
and due to it being between two other guides, the dead spot is accentuated.
Gary solves this problem by removing the ferrule, and allowing the joint
to exist inside of an existing guide. This results in the rod pieces being
two dissimilar lengths, but preserves the action and performance of the
rod. Because the winding wrap around a guide stem is deeper than most
ferrules, it provides for a more secure mount which results in less breakage
and an overall better feel to the rod. Most anglers cannot tell the difference
between our 1 piece and 2 piece models by feel alone.
Go Small
During Gary's many seminars, he will always remind you to “Go Small”. What he means is don't use too big of a reel, or jig, or spinner. Bigger isn't always better. Our reels are offered in 2 sizes only; 10 and 20. They are sized correctly for the rods which they are offered with. A smaller reel results in a lighter combo, which is easier to handle, and easier to fish with.
