Gary RoachGary Roach, known as "Mr. Walleye", was born and raised on the shores of Mission Lake in northern Minnesota. Gary started fishing off the dock when he was three and starting guiding at age ten. Now known as Mr. Walleye®, he has dedicated his life to guiding, promoting and teaching anglers all over North America.

Gary's methods and angling skills have been used in many publications, such as: Fishing Facts, In-Fisherman, Outdoor News, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, Walleye Magazine, Breaklines and many more. He currently writes articles for Outdoor News, Mid-West Outdoors Magazine and North American Fisherman and has written articles for newspapers all over the countries. He's appeared in hundreds of TV spots with such notables as "In-Fisherman", "Mid-West Outdoors Television" and "Adventures North".

Gary Roach was one of the original Nisswa Guides and has designed fishing equipment including, tackle for companies like Northland Tackle and Pradco, rods for Pure Fishing and boats for Lund Boat Company. In fact, Lund has created a Mr. Walleye® Series of fishing boats.

Gary Roach was inducted into the National Fishing Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame in 2000. In 1991 he won the coveted Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) "Angler of the Year" and "Top Gun" awards. He is a two-time winner of Cabela/In-Fisherman's PWT. He was named "Angler of the Year" in the MWC circuit after winning multiple tournaments. In 1993 Berkley (Pure Fishing) presented him with the "All Pro Award" for outstanding work in angling education and promotions.


Mr WalleyeGary started Mr. Walleye® Specialties, Inc. thirteen years ago and it has grown into the largest promotional team in the country with thirteen professionals fishing and teaching fishing all across America.

In 2006, Gary put forth his years of experience into the design of fishing rods, and released his own brand under the name "Mr Walleye® Series". The rod line was an instant success.

During 2006, Gary developed a high performance rod, which makes it's introduction in 2007 as Mr Walleye® Superpro. In addition, he has developed his own fishing reel to be used in combo with his Mr Walleye® Series rods.
